F is for Fury

As an Army veteran, I love war movies. At my first duty station as a lieutenant, my two roommates were Armor officers. They commanded M1 Abrams tank platoons. Those are bad ass pieces of Army equipment.

Last year, Brad Pitt starred in the movie Fury, a story about a Sherman tank crew in WWII fighting during the last few months of the war. It is intense and the crew consists of actors Brad Pitt, Jon Bernthal, Shia LaBeouf, Michael Pena and Logan Lerman.

IMDB's description is: April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened Army sergeant named Wardaddy commands a Sherman tank and his five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered, out-gunned, and with a rookie soldier thrust into their platoon, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.

I had a few minutes to set up some of my 1:18 Sherman tanks on my garage work space where I make dioramas - well, I want to make dioramas, but rarely have time to do so.

  1. Nice work! Were those paint by you or did they come that way?

  2. The painted Sherman came that way. I believe it was the Motorworks version that was sold at Walmart back in the early 2000s.
